🔒 Your privacy matters to us. CricScorer is primarily a local-first application. By default, your match data stays on your device. Optional cloud features require explicit opt-in.

1. Introduction

CricScorer ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by TridevSoft and is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App").

Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the App.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

Information You Provide Voluntarily:

  • Email Address — Collected for identity verification via OTP (One-Time Password) and to link your local profile with the global registry.
  • Mobile Number — Used as a unique identifier for player search and account linking. We normalize numbers to their last 10 digits.
  • Unique Handle (@username) — A public identifier used for global player search and discovery.
  • Player Statistics — Optional syncing of match performance data to the global registry for verified profiles.

Information Collected Automatically:

  • Expo Push Token — A device-specific token used to deliver push notifications. We store this on our secure servers to send you match updates and alerts.
  • Device Information — Basic device metadata (OS version, app version) may be collected for crash reporting and compatibility purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features.
  • Verify your identity and enable account linking across devices.
  • Enable global player search so other users can discover and link your profile.
  • Send push notifications for match updates, reminders, and important alerts.
  • Respond to your support requests and inquiries.
  • Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve user experience.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. Push Notifications

We use Expo Push Notifications to deliver match updates, reminders, and important alerts. To provide this service, we collect and store an Expo Push Token unique to your device.

You can opt-out of notifications at any time through your device settings (Settings → Notifications → CricScorer) or within the App's notification preferences.

5. Global Player Search

CricScorer allows users to search for players in our global registry. When you search, the search terms (Name, Mobile, Email, or Handle) are transmitted to our secure backend to find matching profiles. This data is used solely to facilitate player discovery and linking.

Your own profile is only discoverable if you have explicitly verified your account and opted into the global registry.

6. Local Data Storage

By default, all match data — including team names, scores, and local player names — is stored locally on your device using a secure SQLite database. This data:

  • Remains on your device regardless of your internet connection.
  • Is only synced to the cloud if you explicitly verify your profile and enable cloud sync features.
  • Is not shared with any third party without your consent.

7. Third-Party Services

CricScorer uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

  • Google Sign-In / Firebase Auth — Used for optional authentication. Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Firebase / Cloud Firestore — Used for OTP delivery, global registry lookups, and push notification management. Firebase Privacy.
  • Expo (React Native) — The framework used to build the App. Expo Privacy Policy.

8. App Permissions

The App may request the following device permissions:

  • Notifications — Required to send match updates and alerts (opt-in).
  • Storage / Photos — Used to save match report images locally to your device.
  • Camera — Used for QR code scanning to join teams.
  • Internet — Required for Google Sign-In, OTP verification, and global search features.

9. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. See our Account Deletion guide for instructions.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect new features or regulatory requirements. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this page periodically.
